Synopsis
50 years after the birth of Hip-Hop, and 30 years since it made its way to Israel - the exciting story of the genre that started as a joke and became the most prominent genre in today's Israel. This is a story about us, about all of us, about Israel from the euphoric nineties, through the Palestinian uprising, terrorist attacks, political upheavals and a deepening social divide. Through colorful, larger-than-life key characters, behind-the-scenes stories that have not yet been told, and clip-like, up-to-date cinematic language, we will outline the dream and its shattering, as well as the rebirth of local rap. In a historical-cultural docuseries, young, immersive and jumpy, we tell the story of an Israeli culture who tries to define itself again and again and does not always succeed.

Omri Dekel-Kadosh
Omri fell in love with cinema at the age of 12, graduated with honors from the Sam Spiegel Film and Television School and hasn’t stopped for a moment since. His film ‘Portrait Of Family In My 13th Year’ won the best short film award at the Jerusalem Festival 2017 and held its international premiere at the prestigious San Sebastian Festival. His film ‘The Accident’ won the Israeli Academy Award for Best Short Fiction in 2021, and the Promising Director Award at the Jerusalem Festival 2020 and won dozens of other festivals in Israel and around the world. With the release of the web series he created, ‘Benafsham’ (KAN11), which received millions of views, Omri was selected for Forbes magazine’s 2021 list of the 30 most promising young people under the age of 30. As the son of a director mother and a Creative Director father, Omri grew up between presentations and sets and began directing commercials already during his studies. Today he directs prominent and award-winning campaigns for the biggest brands in Israel.

Rom Atik
Rom is one of the pioneers and leaders in the field of podcasts in Israel. Among other things, he created the three most listened-to and beloved podcasts in Israel: One a Day (N12), One Song, and Pocket Animals (Kan 11). In 2021, he founded the podcast department of N12 (12 News) and has managed it ever since. The editor-in-chief of One a Day with Elad Simchayoff, the most listened-to podcast in Israel, which seeks to understand and explain the daily reality in Israel. The first daily podcast in Israel. In 2016, he was one of the founders of Kan Hesktim, the podcast department of Kan Broadcasting, and was its editor-in-chief until 2020.
